About the Brewery
Goose Island Beer Company was founded in 1988 in Chicago, Illinois by John Hall after he was inspired by the craft beer scene in Europe. The brewery is named after Goose Island, a neighborhood on the North Branch of the Chicago River. Goose Island helped pioneer craft brewing in the Midwest and is credited with popularizing the bourbon barrel-aging technique that has since transformed the industry. Their Bourbon County Brand Stout is one of the most coveted and celebrated barrel-aged beers in the world. Now part of Anheuser-Busch, Goose Island continues to produce innovative craft beers with a Chicago soul.
