Leffe is a Belgian abbey ale brand with roots dating back to the Abbey of Leffe in Dinant, Belgium, where monks first brewed beer in the 13th century. Though the abbey's brewing stopped during periods of war, the Leffe name and brewing tradition were revived in the mid-20th century through a partnership that eventually brought the brand under AB InBev's ownership.
